Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani-Peruvian Muay thai fighter, mixed martial artist and currently is a competitor in the UFC flyweight division. She is the younger sister of the former UFC Flyweight champion and fellow UFC athlete Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko began her career as a Muay Thai kickboxer. She made her debut in 2003 at the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko was the winner at the competition and defeated Suzane Milliner with a unanimous verdict. Antonina followed it up and won a silver medal in 2007, a bronze in 2008, a gold medal in 2011, and was the 2016 IFMA Amateur Muay Thailand World Champion. Antonia started her professional journey at the age of 23 in 2003. She has taken home numerous titles including the World WKC K-1 Light Welterweight Champion, the Lion Fight Lightweight Championships as well as the WMC as well as Phoenix FC World Championships. Antonina has fought her last time against Isa Tsidblad Keskikangas at Phoenix Fighting Championship. She won by unanimous vote. Antonina Schevchenko set her professional MMA records in 2002, when she faced Anara Bazanova at KFK Cup of Kyrgystan. She took the title with a TKO during the 2nd round, and was able to take home two subsequent bouts in the WXF X-Impact World Championships of 2003. This gave her a 3-0 MMA record. Shevchenko was absent from MMA to focus on her kickboxing and returned to the ring against Anissa Haddaoui in Phoenix FC 3 in 2017. Shevchenko had the chance to beat Anissa with a unanimous verdict and defeated Valerie Domergue on Phoenix FC 4 in the year 2017. She left in 2018 the tournament and started competing in Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko beat Jaimelene Nievera during Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11 Antonina displayed her power of striking by tying Nievera by knees. Following this victory, Antonina received a UFC contract. Antonina was offered the UFC contract following her win. Shevchenko took the win via unanimous decision but losing her following fight to Roxanne Modafferi in a split decision. Antonina has recovered from her defeat by beating Lucie Pudilova on UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler by a rear-naked choke submission. She was awarded the prize of fight-of-the-night. Shevchenko had a 1-2 record in her three subsequent matches, winning over Ariane Lipski, while being defeated by Katlyn Clarkagian as well as Andrea Lee.
